Cookie policy
Short version: no tracking. The site sets one cookie, and only for the host when they sign in to run the dinners.
Last updated 5 November 2026.
1. What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser so it can recognise you on your next request. Sites use them for things like keeping you signed in, remembering preferences, and, very often, tracking what you do for analytics and advertising. We do the first and none of the rest.
2. Cookies this site sets
If you’re a guest browsing dinners, booking a seat or signing up for emails, the site sets no cookies at all. Fonts are served from our own domain, so there are no requests to Google Fonts or any other font provider.
The only cookie we set is for the host’s admin area:
| Cookie | Purpose | Set when | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
sb-*-auth-token | Keeps the host signed in to the admin pages after they follow the magic link in their sign-in email. Set by Supabase, our database and authentication provider. Strictly necessary for signing in. | Only when a host signs in at /admin. | Until the host signs out or the session expires. |
Because the only cookie is strictly necessary and only ever set for the site’s own host, the law doesn’t require us to ask for consent, and you won’t see a cookie banner.
3. Cookies set by other people
Stripe
When you pay for a seat you’re taken to a payment page run by Stripe at checkout.stripe.com. Stripe sets its own cookies there to process the payment and prevent fraud. Those cookies belong to Stripe, not to us, and are covered by the Stripe cookie policy. They’re essential to taking a card payment.
Links to other sites
Dinner pages link to restaurant websites and to maps. Once you follow a link, that site’s cookies and policies apply.
4. What we don’t use
- No Google Analytics or any other analytics service.
- No advertising or retargeting pixels.
- No social media buttons that phone home.
- No session recording or heat-mapping.
If that changes, we’ll update this page before the new cookies go live and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent first.
5. Your choices
You can block or delete cookies in your browser’s settings. For guests this has no effect on the site, because it doesn’t set any. Blocking Stripe’s cookies may stop the payment page working.
